Amanpulo: Heaven on Earth (Part 1)

I must admit, I was not looking forward to Amanpulo for one reason-- the plane ride. You see, I don't really like small planes. I fear turbulence. I think the more times I fly, the more fearful I become. So I become so religious each time I fly-- I really pray and pray hard I do *hahahaha*. I know, laugh, but I have gone through unpleasant flight experiences (we're talking major turbulence) that small planes freak me out. Apparently though, smaller planes are safer than big planes! In any case, I was still afraid.

So when we got to the lounge for Amanpulo, I actually downed a glass of vodka tonic with banana bread (hahaha that was my lunch, and NO I'm not a raging alcoholic hahaha). I will tell you that it did calm my nerves. Until I saw the actual plane. *Gulp*

The plane we will take was on the right-- not that one on the left (apparently the left one is for sale. Peeps!! Who wants to buy a plane?? hehehehe)

I can already feel the island hospitality when I boarded the plane. Cold towels!

Inside the plane.
Each passenger gets these:

I was seated right beside the propeller,
so it was necessary to wear the ear plugs, but I just decided to listen to music.

Eventually I fell asleep (thank God!!), and after 1 hr. 05 mins later, I heard the captain say we were landing.

That island you see, is AMANPULO. You see the landing strip on the left? :)
We were greeted by these :) Golf carts, and the wonderfully warm staff and managers from the island!

Sampaguita for everyone. Heavenly scent! I actually couldn't wait to see the island.

And we were driven to the Beach Club by our lady host named Lynn.

Bag hags, Mrs.T has arrived in Paradise!!! (Look at the water!!)

This, is Amanpulo :) And The Bag Hag leaves her mark *hehehe* :)

This is heaven on earth...

Now let me stop right here. I have to get some shuteye now because there are MORE photos to take tomorrow and more things to do :) :)

It's official-- you DON'T have to be with your loved one in Amanpulo. It's not just a lovers' island. It's the perfect weekend getaway-- and it's in the Philippines (and yes, by coming here, you are helping our economy!) Gosh, listen to me. I am already singing praises about Amanpulo but I haven't even begun to discuss what I have done today :)  *I will hold that off for tomorrow's post :)*

In case you are interested in Amanpulo, you can contact CV Travel's Claudette Vitug (+63917) 536-8545 who had arranged this whole getaway.  CV Travel carries packages to Amanpulo. And let me tell you now, it's WORTH IT to go there.  Before I got married, I liked beaches (but I've never been to Boracay-- as in, NOT EVEN ONCE!!!) but somehow after I got married, I lost interest in beaches (partly because DH isn't into beaches too, and well, I became kinda averse to the sun because of my age spots and freckles hahaha). But I'm soooooo glad I'm reacquainting myself again with the sea and the beach!! It's really beautiful and so magical. And peeps, you don't need to have a "partner" to share Amanpulo with. Just bring your girlfriends :) This time I can honestly say that I can forego Europe for Amanpulo :)

More on Amanpulo tomorrow :) I guarantee, the photos are breathtakingly beautiful that you'd want to come here!!

P.S. if you want real-time photo updates tomorrow, get a Twitter account and add me :) I'm "thebaghag" there :)
