New Year's Eve Beliefs... what to believe?

Before anything else I even start working on my New Year's resolutions, I wanted to ask you peeps about these New Year's eve superstitious beliefs I've been hearing from friends. Some of them were really funny while others are actually seriously doable. Do you peeps do these?

Here are a few:

1. Jump at the stroke of midnight so you'll grow taller *hehehe ok this I'll do. I wouldn't mind trading in my 5 inch heels to wear flats coz I'll grow to about 6 feet tall if this were true hahaha*

2. Wear polka dot lingerie.  Hah. Easy enough! Charlotte Russe online has em!

Or hah, if you want people to see you with polka dots, go for a polka dot bag!

The more polka dots, the luckier :D

    3. Have something red with you. If you can't see yourself wearing a Santa suit *hahaha dude, Christmas was like, a few days ago? Hahaha (Santa suits are now on sale hahaha)*, carry a NEW red bag *oh yes, it HAS to be New!* Why not the Cath Kidston Trellis Rose Day Bag

    Pretty in Red!

    4. Get a new haircut? Do a Kate Gosselin. Go from down-and-dowdy mama with bad hair *and a bird's nest as her crown* day everyday
    *Chills*
To hot Mariah Carey lookalike Mama *with new bumpers to boot! hehehe*

    5. Buy round fruits-- I was told by twittermates to get 13 round fruits and have 88 coins. Ok now that's just something I doubt I can do hahahaha. So here's my fruitplatter. All round fruits sliced up! LOL
with the exception of strawberry, pineapple and kiwi which are not round. But pineapple is also a LUCKY fruit!
Oh and here are my 88 coins :D
    From google images
    6. Sleep with your money. Like put your Hermès Graphite and Blue Jean Veau Rodeo Dogon Combined Wallet *full of cash* underneath your pillow :D

Hermès Graphite and Blue Jean Veau Rodeo Dogon Combined Wallet
This Hermes Dogon Wallet is still available for sale at Portero by the way :D

*Ok I am seriously planning to do this, and go ahead, laugh if you will. If I win that pot money from the lottery next year, I will gloat only because I did sleep with my wallet LOL*

Annnnnd with that, let me greet you all a HAPPY 2011! From midnight onward, let's all start fresh and leave the not-too-pleasant 2010 memories behind. Shake off negative vibes off your body and just look at the new year with hope,  joy, and love.  2011 promises to be just as phenomenal-- or even greater!! :)

    HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE!!!

    Pick: Shoes or Bag?

So I asked on twitter: if you were to choose, would you pick a bag or a pair of shoes?

Most of you answered BAG with a passion :)

Now, let me show you the shoes *in case you change your mind :D*  Let's start with pair # 1.
    Roger Vivier

So, would you pick these, or would you still go for the bag? :)

While you decide, I'm going back to McDonald's now for another round of Happy Meals and Apple Pie *which is soooooo gooood!!!!*

P.S. Before the year ends, I would like to say THANK YOU to KENZO for sending me this absolutely beautiful coat!! It's perfect!!!

2010 has been a phenomenal year and I can't be grateful enough for everything that I have, and all the experiences I had! Thank you everyone for making it a fantastic year!!! Now, for new year's resolutions, I have plenty but I haven't really organized my thoughts yet hahaha :D As soon as I do, I'll post them here *just like Christmas gift giving, my New Year's resolutions are going to have to come in late hehehe*

    Bag Review: Coach

First of all, I am elated to announce that Nordstrom joins the list of online retailers that ships to the Philippines-- and their prices upon your checkout, are already tax and tariff inclusive *which means, NO hassle at customs!!!* So now, we in the Philippines can all enjoy shopping online without having to go through personal shoppers or pay unexplainable taxes and tariff to customs! Shopping is really getting better :)

Now let's talk Coach. For the longest time, I have not really liked Coach bags *sorry, telling it like it is*. But late last year, I've revisited the brand and was getting pleased. Pleased enough to actually buy myself a patent pink Coach bag! :) *I hardly used her though, because she was a little too small for me*

Today, after going through the Nordstrom site, I found more reason to like the brand. Really liking this Coach Colette Leather Stripe Hobo

    Coach Striped Hobo

The bag comes in either blue or camel as well. *The blue's quite nice too*.  Check out the other Coach bags at Nordstrom -- finally Coach can be shipped to the Philippines once again :)

    Las Vegas Bag Report: CHANEL

Oh I had a nasty day simply because of my cold. It's official: I am sick :( *boo!*  Thank goodness for Dayquil, I feel a little better *and hah, sleepier too*

Anyway, I do declare that shopping in Las Vegas is a lot of fun especially since taxes as much lower than in California.

Today's feature is Chanel. Chanel will hold a special place in my heart because it was the first ever designer bag brand that I bought with my own money *technically not my own, but I had to save my allowance for it*
    Chanel at Wynn

A Blinged out classic flap bag

Another variation on the classic flap

From the cruise collection comes this super colorful flap bag

    Perfect for a weekend

    Interesting texture

Denim and camel colored leather (nice combination)
Reminds me of the petit noe from LV

As I've said earlier, Chanel holds a special place in my heart, but until I hear word from one of their after-sales people about a bag *with damage* that I had bought from them (which I had shipped back to their office for assessment), I think I will just admire their bags from the shop window. Hopefully everything gets resolved right away. And hah, hopefully in the process I get to save some money!

By the way, you might want to do some shopping at Net-a-Porter now-- they're on sale!!!

    Spots in December!

It rained yesterday and a little bit today. Wet, wet, wet in San Francisco! Which means cold, cold, cold! So I decided to wear a thermal undershirt today. Kinduva big mistake actually, because we remained indoors throughout the afternoon and well, it was not exactly cold indoors. *I sweat buckets... eewww*

Yeah well maybe I lost a little flab while I sweat *it's Christmas, I can dream... LET ME DREAM! Hehehe* Anyway, so I went shopping with the brood today at the Great Mall of the Bay Area. Here are some highlights from my shop visits:

    Stuart Weitzman Clutch
Confession: I am still considering getting this bag. I actually really, really like it.

    And then there were these:
    Badgley Mischka
     +

Fendi Leopard Platforms (funny how these once- called hooker heels have become so "mainstream" now)
    =

    Hehehehe...
    Badgley Mischka "Claudette" Leopard Bag
I could not resist this bag. *Yes I bought it!!* It may not be the Celine leopard luggage bag I wanted *boo hoo it's sold out and will never be made again*, but I'm happy with it. The Badgley Claudette is just a small bag, and it has a detachable shoulder strap which I frankly don't care for *gold chains eeww*. I'm thinking of just having a new strap made for it. I love this bag because it's small-- the spots are not too overpowering. Believe me, I've searched high and low for the one leopard bag that I will own, and finally I settled on this one. And the best thing about this is: it was waaaay within my bag budget for December ;) Can you guess how much I got this bag for? :)  Thank the retail heavens for Neiman Marcus Last Call Center *hahaha* :D

And what have you bought for yourself this week? :)

Travelog: Holiday 2010 in San Francisco!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of blog posts-- as some of you may already know, I am living in the boonies here in San Francisco and have yet to get internet access via my computer. In the meantime though, I've been tweeting regularly through my phone-- so if you have twitter, do follow me at www.twitter.com/thebaghag for updates ;)

Now that I'm inside the Apple store here in Walnut Creek, I decided to just take my computer out and go online *yes, I am a leech LOL*. A lot has changed here in Walnut Creek and I am so excited because come Spring 2012 *oh, eeps that's still a whole year and a half away*, Neiman Marcus will finally open! Boonieville no more! :)

Tonight, dinner will be at our town's Cheesecake Factory

Quite frankly though, I'd much rather get fresh produce from the grocery and cook at home, but hehehe when it comes to dessert, you can't expect me to contribute much. So I guess Cheesecake Factory is the answer. Boo. *Like I need to eat more cheesecake. FYI, I've been binge-drinking grocery- bought egg nog (sans the liquor-- coz I'm designated driver 99% of the time) and also soy- based pumpkin spice. Both of which are reallllly fattening*.

Before I head off to enjoy the rest of Walnut Creek like the rest of my family, let me just post some quick photos of shop windows. I haven't really gone around much yet, so more photos will come in the next day or so *when I get the chance to go online again*
    Max Azria

    Juicy Couture

Inside David M. Brian-- they have moved to the space across the street to make way for Neiman Marcus

Crate and Barrel. I can't wait to go in!

Gotta get us one of these baby pine trees!!

I am crossing my fingers that I get to blog more regularly, but if I don't, do follow me on twitter-- and you'll know what I'm up to :)

Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! Oh and by the way, my Christmas shopping has NOT ended yet. I think I'm cursed with an expanding Christmas list hahaha :)

    P.S.
Nokia contest has ended, but I need to begin verifying the "likes" on the top 3 contenders as there are some phantom accounts that my friends and I discovered. So to be fair to all, I need to have them all checked out.

So that's that for now and more updates soon!!

    Bag Review: Marni Suede Satchel

It's time for another bag post!

Marni large suede satchel: I'm trying to figure out if this is a bag that I would buy for myself. I love the form  (and function-- I mean, WOW 4 pockets!!) of the bag but oh boo, it's suede!! :(

I'm also trying to figure out if the flap handle can handle the weight of the bag, but it's pretty, right? :)

I hope they can actually make this in a more scratch- resistant leather though! How do you peeps feel about this bag? Available at Net-A-Porter.com

P.S. Don't forget, one more day to enter the NOKIA contest!! Join here-- www.facebook.com/thebaghag  :)
